Mr Gas Re-Development

For over 40 years, Mr. Gas has serviced communities throughout Ontario and Quebec as an independent gas retailer. LRL was brought on as the prime engineering consultant for the redevelopment of the 0.60 acres property. Before the site's redevelopment, the project included the demolition and removal of all existing infrastructure. The newly developed site featured a 150m2 commercial building and new underground tanks, canopy and pump area. This project also included the installation of a new storm sewer and water and sanitary services. 

One of the biggest challenges for the LRL team was designing a new storm sewer to be connected to the existing networking. Still, the project was expertly completed following Ministry of the Environment design guidelines and Municipal Standards.

The LRL team was also responsible for:

• Reviewing background data
• Providing a geotechnical investigation
• Testing materials, such as compaction and concrete tests, the founding soil inspection and rebar inspection
• Preparing detailed engineering designs
• Creating the work cost estimate
• Communication with the City of Ottawa's staff for approval
• Conducting the final inspection
