This project included the expansion of Fire Station No. 3. The re-development included a 1,500 sq. expansion to house a state-of-the-art fire and ambulance station. The existing fire station was integrated in the design and renovated to house offices and training rooms.  

The project was developed and completed as a design built. As the prime structural consultant, LRL collaborated with the general contractor, the project management, the client and the architect to develop a cost-efficient building meeting the client expectations.

The project was completed within budget and on schedule.

The project addressed the following activities:

  • Review of all available background data;
  • Provided a Geotechnical Investigation
  • Material testing (Compaction & Concrete tests, Founding Soil Inspection & Rebar Inspection)
  • Prepared detailed foundation and structural engineering design;
  • Prepared a work cost estimate;
  • Communication with the architect, the project manager, the general contractor, the city, and the end users.
  • Final inspection
